Have you ever wondered what really happens when you cast your vote? Join us for an engaging and interactive session that takes you behind the scenes of Australia's electoral system.
Presented by Voices of Wannon, we will explore state and federal electorates, preferential voting and preference distributions, formal and informal votes, and how to navigate the Upper House ballot paper, known as the 'big ballot paper'.
The highlight of the session is a hands-on mock election and simulated vote count, giving you the opportunity to see firsthand how votes are counted and distributed under Australia's preferential voting system.
Whether you're voting for the first time, looking for a refresher, or simply curious about our democratic system, this fun and non-partisan even is a great opportunity to better understand the voting process and participate with confidence.
