Join esteemed book designer Lavinia Puccetti for an insight into the delicate process of working with artists and their work to create sophisticated, bespoke and highly sought after artist books. This lecture coincides with the the launch of her newly designed book for Kait James: Red Flags to accompany the bold new exhibition of the same name currently on display at the Warrnambool Art Gallery.

Lavinia is an independent editorial and branding designer based in Melbourne with marked experience across both print and digital mediums. She previously worked at Hayman Design and LBD Studios and currently freelances. At Hayman Design, the projects she executed received AGDA Awards. These included Portsea Surf and Life Saving Club brand refresh (Merit, AGDA 2021), Union Magazine Issue 01 (Merit, AGDA 2022), to Be Magazine Issue 03 (Metit, AGDA 2022), and Ben Quilty FREE FALL (Finalist, AGDA 2022). In 2023, Paul Yore’s seminal 416-page monograph PAUL YORE: WORD MADE FLESH, published by ACCA and Art Ink and designed by Hayman Design and Lavinia, received an AGDA Distinction for Publication (AGDA 2023).
Lavinia is committed to designing for arts and culture. In her independent practice, she has worked with clients such as Melbourne Recital Centre, Ordinance Gallery, Warrnambool Art Gallery, alt.material, artist Sadie Chandler, influencer FlexMami and Lucy Folk, among others. Her approach to design is conceptual and shaped by committed research into the content and the client’s strategic positioning. Lavinia's enduring interest in decoding images and commitment to the art world is rooted in her studies in art history. She holds a BA in History of Art and an MPhil in Surrealism and Contemporary Art from the University of Cambridge.
