Live Music Office

This event will be a facilitated the conversation between attendees (representing local audiences, musicians, music venues, local businesses, the industry) and Warrnambool Council, on what the future of music in Warrnambool could look like.

It marks the start of a full 12 month Live and Local program, that will assist the growth of live music in the community, by implementing sustainable best-practice live music strategies, better regulation and policy development and a series of Micro-Festival events.

The Live and Local program supports local councils to deliver a number of key program components that are designed to increase long term live music activity, including:

  • Better Regulation and Strategic Policy Development
  • Establish a local music industry group
  • Engage a Venues Liaison to engage local musicians and businesses for the program
  • Conduct a Live Music Census
  • Paid employment via micro-festival events showcasing local musicians in local businesses
  • Capacity-building with professional development events and workshops
