The Mother's Day Classic walk or run for breast cancer research was established in 1998 - it started from modest beginnings as a walk in the park and has grown into a major national community event.
In 2025, the community are being asked to come together to walk or run and accelerate progress towards a day where every woman diagnosed with either breast or ovarian cancer will be given the assurance that they can survive.
ON-THE-DAY SCHEDULE:

8:55am: Minutes Silence
9:00am: 7km run starts
9:05am: 3 km walk starts
Medals picked up by participants upon completion of course
COURSE DETAILS:
The course is along Pertobe Road to the breakwater.
Then back along the promenade.
7km run continues past the surf club, before turning around at Granny's Grave and returning to the start/finish line.
