Latest updates on our response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Local community organisations, clubs and groups are invited to join local council for an interactive workshop to learn about Asset Based Community Development (ABCD).
Drawing on the experience of both the participants and the facilitators, participants will leave this workshop with practical tools, skills and ideas on how to:
• Build on What’s Strong not What’s Wrong
• Focus on local assets and strengths
• Identify, connect and mobilise community assets
• Encourage community collaboration and planning
• Build and maintain effective partnerships
ABCD is a powerful approach to community development that focuses on abilities and potential, rather than problems by discovering the resources that are already present in our community.
The key principles will demonstrate how ABCD ensures an inclusive community process and participants will leave the workshop with practical tools to assist themselves and others to discover and mobilise community strengths.
This is a free workshop designed for any community or volunteer-involving organisations, clubs or groups in the Warrnambool and District region.
Bookings are essential, RSVP by Monday 22 November
Morning tea, lunch and refreshments provided.
